Woodside is located in the heart of Silicon Valley and is considered to be among the wealthiest communities in the United States and is the home to many chief executive officers, venture capitalists, and founders of Silicon Valley's many high-tech companies.

Horses are a part of the local culture. Many residents keep horses and the town government maintains a network of horse trails.  Woodside is also home to a number of open space preserves that provide hiking, biking and horseback riding trails. 

Its location is ideal, with close proximity to Stanford University and Sand Hill Road, home to the Venture Capital community. It is also conveniently located between two international airports and jet centers. Many of the most successful high tech companies such as Apple Computer, Google, Hewlett Packard and Facebook have located their headquarters here in Silicon Valley. 

The Peninsula is only 30 minutes from San Francisco and about 1.5 hours away from Napa Valley and Pebble Beach. Many of our residents enjoy the summer and winter activities in Lake Tahoe, which is only 4 hours away. 

The Woodside Elementary School District is highly regarded. The local community of Woodside is near several prestigious private schools including Sacred Heart Schools, Menlo School and Phillip Brooks. 

The population per the 2010 census was 5,272.
